Full Description
The PADI Underwater Naturalist Specialty helps you better understand the
interactions between marine species and their environment. You'll learn to
identify fish, corals, invertebrates, and distinguish between natural behaviors
and human impact.
This accessible and fascinating course takes place over 2 days in Belle Mare’s
clear, biodiversity-rich waters. From lagoons to reef passes and outer reefs,
you'll enjoy 2 observation dives supported by an eLearning module to complete
at your own pace.

Specialty Objectives

• Identify major marine life families (fish, invertebrates, corals, algae)
• Observe interactions between species and their habitat
• Understand the ecological role of each organism
• Recognize human impact on marine ecosystems
• Dive more responsibly and environmentally consciously

Course Content

1. PADI Underwater Naturalist eLearning (personal access provided)
2. Briefings on local ecosystems and how they work
3. 2 open water dives focused on observation and identification
4. Practical exercises: spotting, classifying, dive journaling
5. Post-dive debriefs with analysis of observations

Participation Requirements

• Open Water Diver certification (or equivalent)
• Minimum age: 10 years
• Good physical condition (medical form required)
• Mandatory dive insurance
• No diving within 24 hours before flying

Schedule & Duration

• 2 observation dives per day
• Available start times: 08:30 and/or 10:30
• Session duration: approx. 2.5 to 3 hours (welcome, briefing, dive, return)
• Dive sites located 10–15 minutes by boat from Belle Mare

Included in the Course

• Access to the PADI Underwater Naturalist eLearning
• Supervision by a certified PADI instructor
• 2 open water dives focused on marine life observation
• Full equipment provided:
o Wetsuit, BCD, regulator, fins, mask
o Marine ID slate, species ID cards
• Official PADI Underwater Naturalist certification
• Drinking water available before/after each dive

Not Included

• Transfers hotel ↔ dive center (available on request)
• Dive insurance (mandatory, must be presented or purchased on site)
• Underwater photos/videos (optional extras)
• Personal equipment (can be used if preferred)

 Availability

• Available Monday to Saturday, year-round
• Advance booking recommended to receive eLearning access in time
• Small group or private sessions available upon request

 What to Bring

• PADI certification and logbook
• Swimsuit, towel, dry clothes
• Eco-friendly sunscreen
• Personal dive computer (optional but recommended)
• Good hydration and rest before diving

• 50% refund up to 48 hours before
• No refund less than 48 hours before or in case of no-show
