The PADI Underwater Navigator Specialty sharpens your underwater orientation
skills—an essential asset for gaining autonomy, improving dive safety, and
exploring confidently without losing your way.
You'll learn how to use a compass, interpret natural references, estimate
distances, and plot complex routes with precision.
This program includes 3 ocean dives over 2 days in Belle Mare, along with an
eLearning theory component to complete in advance. Belle Mare’s dive sites
offer the perfect conditions for practice, with sandy areas, reef markers, and
excellent visibility.

Specialty Objectives

• Use a compass accurately underwater
• Estimate distances and follow a heading
• Execute square and triangular navigation patterns
• Navigate using natural landmarks
• Plan efficient and safe underwater routes

 Course Content

1. PADI Navigation eLearning (personal access provided)
2. Briefings on navigation techniques and principles
3. 3 open water dives focused on practical navigation
4. Drills: straight-line headings, star patterns, return to start
5. Post-dive debriefings to review progress and techniques

Participation Requirements

• Open Water Diver certification (or equivalent)
• Minimum age: 10 years
• Good physical condition (medical form required)
• Mandatory dive insurance
• No flying within 24 hours after diving

Schedule & Duration

• Duration: 2 consecutive days
• Available start times: 08:30 and/or 10:30
• Session length: approx. 2.5 to 3 hours (welcome, briefing, dive, return)
• Dive sites located about 10 minutes by boat from Belle Mare

• Access to the PADI Underwater Navigator eLearning
• Certified professional instructor guidance
• 3 open water navigation dives
• Full scuba equipment provided:
o Wetsuit, BCD, regulator, mask, fins
o Compass, slate, and navigation accessories

•  Transfers hotel ↔ dive center (available on request)
• Dive insurance (mandatory, must be presented or purchased on site)
• Underwater photos/videos (optional extras)

• Advance booking recommended to receive eLearning access in time
• Small group or private sessions available upon request

 What to Bring

• PADI certification and logbook
• Swimsuit, towel, dry clothes

• Good hydration and rest before diving

• 50% refund up to 48 hours before
• No refund less than 48 hours before or in case of no-show
